Tuesday

On Tuesday, Mike, Brooklyn, & I went to the National Corvette Museum, in Bowling Green, Ky, while my mom & dad took Liv & Syd to Dinosaur World! They had fun they said. They got to see lots of life-sized dinosaurs and dig for teeth & fossils and keep a few. We had fun at the museum as well, although they didn't let US keep anything! They could of at least let us have a Corvette! :)
This is my dream car that I want someday!
And this is one of Mike's! (He has more than one favorite) :)

After the museum, we went to Mammoth Cave. It was very interesting. I enjoyed that more than anyone I think. It is the longest cave in the world! Even of you put the 2 second longest together, Mammoth cave STILL is longer, and they are still discovering tunnels in it today!
They had "Fat Man's Misery", where the path gets narrow! And they have "Tall Man's Misery", obviously because it gets short!
Our tour was 2 hours, so they somehow built a bathroom down there! Which Sydney was glad about! :)
There was writing on the wall that went back to the early 1800's!
It was pretty amazing to see, and my dad was right, there were a LOT of stairs! Around 500! ;) Afterwards, we were able to rock away at the Cracker Barrel! Another great restaurant where I over-indulged! :)

Wednesday

On Wednesday, we went to visit a small Amish community. We ate at the best little buffet place, with the best food ever!!
We also got a tour of the Galilean Home. This is George! :)
Here's my little Amish Babies! :)

On Wednesday, we also went on a little hike on "White Oak" where my dad lived until he was in 3rd grade. This was the house they all lived in. It was VERY small! Sydney kept saying, "I can't believe Pappaw actually LIVED here!" They didn't even have a bathroom, or outhouse. They just went outside! ;) Plus they had a lot of fruit trees and garden so they really only went to the store for some baking supplies, like sugar, flour, etc. It was very interesting, and eye opening to the girls! :)
Livia on the front porch
Mom on the porch
Here are a few pics inside the house. Plus there was writing by the doorway that was broken down in years from 2000 and 2001, so people lived there just 10 years ago! Shocking!
Kitchen
Upstairs (It was very small) There were spiders with big egg sack EVERYWHERE! I felt like I was in the movie Arachnophobia! :)
We were on the look for snakes the whole time, but we let fearless Livia protect us! ;)
We are standing in front of the stream, that is dried up now, but isn't in the spring I guess.
Sydney & my dad "hiking" :p
It was SOOOOO hot that day! Poor Brooky shows it too. Poor baby got so hot and red from exhaustion. Correct me if I'm wrong dad, but the road we are walking in was put in later. They just used a little path, or when the creek was dry, they would walk in that to catch the bus!
This is the house that my dad's grandparents lived in, just down the road, Clark & "Mammy".
This tree use to be shorter, and the branch above my dad's head, is where his dad would hang upside down from.
This is another little tiny abandoned shack that my Pappaw and his brother Carol built.
Poor Brooky was dead when we got back in the car and got the air blowin full blast! :) We were so busy all week, that most of her naps took place in the van!

That night we also stopped at the church for a little basketball game that was on "hold" for like 15 years now, from when my Uncle Tim beat me & my sister Tara! So I wanted a rematch!!!! however, somehow.... I let a 58 year old overweight man beat me AGAIN!!!!! UUGGGHHH!!!! I think I must have had some subconscious guilt though, so I lost on purpose! :) I could have! Can you tell I'm still sore! ;0 It was fun though!

Thursday

On Thursday, we went to Louisville and went to the Louisville Slugger Museum. It was fun, we got to see Babe Ruth's bat, and more of course; and we got to go to the factory and see a bat being made. then we each got to take a small bat home.
And of course, we had to hit the balls (or try to) in the batting cages! Mike hit the 45 mph balls, I tried, but after missing all 10 times, I swung at the 25 mph balls with my mom and the girls. It was fun!

That evening, we went bowling with all the fam. Mike smoked everyone the first game, but not so much the 2nd game! ;)
Livia & Larry with their mustaches! :)

Friday & Saturday

On Friday we hung out with family, played games, & went to the movies and saw Smurfs. Here's some misc pics!
We got caught in a huge storm! It was so strong that it broke the umbrella! It was so funny!
Good 'ole Mammaw in her kitchen!
Brooklyn with my Uncle Larry! She really liked him!
One big family pic with the whole gang! (minus my uncle Larry, and cousin Paige)
Then on Saturday we headed home! 2 plane rides with only 30 minutes in between and a long car ride home! We were tired the next day!
Us trying to entertain Brooklyn on the airplane!
The girls got their own seats behind us on the last plane. We finally got TV for them, (but only one of them, so they shared headphones!) cheap parents! :)
We really did have a GREAT trip! My parents were more than accommodating & hospitable! Great family trip and I really do feel like we got closer as a family! It was so much fun! Thanks Mike & girls for a great trip & thanks mom and dad for everything!
