Tara & Tamara came to visit!
We had a BBQ with Heather and her fam, and since it was a little cooler that weekend, we drove over to Lewiston, and swam at the water park there, since it's always hotter there, by 10 degrees in the summer time! We had fun together, and as always, it was good to see my sisters.
We were able to go camping on Kalispel Island at Priest Lake, with Mike's family.
We had so much fun! We missed the McCown's not being there, but it was a great week to go, and the kids had a blast as well. :)

Because of our really hot & dry weather this summer, the water was so nice!
Brooklyn dedicated this as the tooth-brushing tree. :)
We did some nature gymnastics, :) Brooklyn balanced on logs and jumps off from rocks, and climbed hills.
Brooky trying to catch a fish :)
Me & Ceceilia
Corn on the Cobb, open fire style! They turned out really good! :)
We got to celebrate Diana's birthday with her on the island, with a huckleberry pie! :)
The bee's were TERRIBLE this year, so we had to do all of our cooking and eating in a mesh tent. Good thing Diana had one for us to crowd in! :)
Of course, we did get our moment of rain. But it didn't last very long.
Plus, the kids always likes the chance it gives us to play our card games in the tent :)
Captain Hook left another treasure on the island again. So we found his clues all over the island, and found his booty! :) Brooklyn LOVED this! She was really cute! :)
Who knew that Captain Hook's booty consisted of candy?!! :)
We love Kalispel Island because we get to camp right by the water, with less neighbors! Priest Lake is SOOO beautiful!!
The girls loved the boat rides and the tubing! :)
Brooklyn's day tent to play in
The annual traditional horseshoe game between father & son..... not sure who won.
Mike is cooking our breakfast sausage, while avoiding the bee's. Luckily and surprisingly, non of us got stung! Except for Diana, I think she did twice!!!!
And, of course, we always grace the Priest Lake ice cream store with our camping odor and presence, with some yummy ice cream!
~ GOOD TIMES ~
Here's some random pics from the month of August.
Brooklyn LOVES helping me cook in the kitchen. This particular day, she refused to keep her clothes on, yet she wanted to help me. Good thing she used an apron. :) such a funny kid. She's always making all of us laugh. :D
Everyday for so long it was HOT! We had a hotter summer in Moscow than my parents did in Kentucky! That's a rarity! This was our most consistent, hottest summer that I can ever recall.
This is while we were picking some raspberries.
Sunday Game Day..... monopoly!
We went on a lot of evening walks. Although, a lot of days we had to wait until bedtime to walk so it could cool off a little.
We used this pool quite a lot this summer.
Sydney had an eye appointment. Her vision actually got a little worse since her last visit, (around 20/50-60) so she got a new prescription, which she didn't mind, 'cuz it gave her an excuse to get some new glasses. These are the pair that she picked.
The hottest, slowest parade ever! It was the Lentil Festival Parade in Pullman. We actually lied to Brooklyn and told her it was over when there was a quiet lull in the parade. ;{
She did like the horses though... :)
Mike and I were able to go to the temple. Thanks to Shalise for watching the kids! :)
Our flower garden did really well. Brooklyn liked helping me water them everyday.
Livia used Kool-Aid with boiling water to die the ends of her hair red! We read that it would wash out after a couple of washes..... it doesn't!!!!! She had to use some home-made remedies to get it out, and it's still slightly pink!
Family walk in the arboretum
Moscow has some beautiful sunsets! Mike and I would try to take our evening walks around them, so we could watch it.
We spent a LOT of time at different parks this month! That is Brooklyn's favorite thing ever! :)
Going to Jamm's was the older girls' favorite thing :)
Nana & Papa got to visit us a couple of times :)
The girls started school the very end of August.
They were a little excited to start again and see their friends. Here's pics from the first day of school.
If you follow me on facebook, you may have already seen these. :)
