August was seriously such a busy month for me! But it was a fun busy! I was able to attend a Beehive hiking and camping activity, since they were too young to go on High Adventure. Plus, it was an added bonus to get to go with Sydney! We hiked up at Priest Lake and then camped overnight. It was fun and a great weekend for it. And it gave us a great excuse to buy some new hiking backpacks, along with a few survival essentials.
Then I was able to attend the youth's High Adventure, with Livia! We went to Priest Lake, and canoed in and out of our campsite everyday (around 3 hours each day of canoeing!) Then did different activities each day. The first day we went to the natural water slides, which was really cold but a blast!
We had to pack in all our own food and cook it ourselves, which was fun.
We did lots of hiking during the days.
I'm not gonna lie. This hike about killed me! It was fun and had a gorgeous view! But, my knees and ankles were dying when we were done! Very steep!
When we got done hiking and canoed back to our campsite everyone was very tired and hot, which is right when Mike, Brooke, Diana, and David showed up! They found us in our canoe and brought us fresh chicken and watermelon! It was amazing and everyone was very grateful!
Meanwhile, Sydney and Brooke stayed with my parents and they took them to the fair and had fun!
After that we went camping with the Deans at Priest Lake for a week! (I pretty much lived at Priest Lake this month. lol) - It is so beautiful there! It was a little cooler while we were there this week.
Livia and I went on a hike and I almost stepped on this long SNAKE!!
We also stumbled upon a hidden Geo-Cache, which was fun to find.
Of course, the traditional treasure hunt :)
We were able to go to Silverwood! Which was Brookes first time going (that she remembers). Mike wasn't able to go with us since he was in Boston, but we had Diana.
Brooke loved the kid rides! She was a little hesitant at first, but then she got into them and didn't want to leave.
The big girls love all the rides too. Their fearless adventurous side always shines here! :) Plus this year they were able to go off on their own to ride rides. They loved that!
Brooke loved the train ride and already talks about going on it again next year!
We stayed until they kicked us out. Good day!
Here's a few random pics from August. We had great weather!
I do miss Texas, but NOT their hot hot hot and humid summers!
We have some beautiful sunsets!
hahahah - she loves crimped hair!
Celebrated Diana's birthday at Red Robin! Yuummmmm :)
We helped out at the Granny work day, which was a wood day.
